If an Exotic Engram drops, then the buff resets completely. When you kill an Ultra with the 3 of Coins buff active, the buff goes away no matter what. These will typically be Story Mission and Strike bosses. The way you tell an Ultra from normal Major is that they’ll have a skull next to their name, as well as the typical yellow bar. You don’t have to get the killing blow on the Ultra, you just need to participate in killing them.
This buff stays active until you defeat an Ultra. Once you activate the 3 of Coins, you’ll see a buff icon showing a Roman Numeral 9 (IX) on your character screen. This is very important, and you’ll understand why shortly. How 3 of Coins Worksįirst off, only use one 3 of Coins at a time.
